Excellent web site.  I have been taking lessons for about a month and wanted to supplement my practice.  The beginner lessons have been extremely helpful.  One of the best sites on the internet.  The video and chords charts at top with the clear explanations is very helpful for someone who has never played before.

Can’t get over this site, thumbs up to you its unreal, thanks

I would like to reiterate some of the comments that have gone before, in that I have had a guitar for more years than I wish to remember. bought this book and that book then the guitar would be put away till the \"next time.\" I signed up with guitar -in - a nutshell and have not put the guitar down since I have made rapid progress and can play some of my favourite songs already. If you are looking for guitar lessons, look no further, you have arrived, I could not recommend this course highly enough with easy to follow lessons and encouragement, if like me you have been totally frustrated in the past I would urge you to sign for up for this course and start enjoying your guitar Thank you so much

Good morning,
I just had to let you know that I have signed up, and I am finding your methods EXTREMELY HELPFUL, and more importantly, simple and easy to follow....even for me.  I took lessons MANY...MANY...MANY years ago for about a year.  I wish you guys were around back then.  I always play the chords when I play, and I always wanted to learn how to do the Arpeggio picking, and I will be practicing this now.  I will never be a Star, but I will enjoy playing a great deal more now....thanks to your site.
I will pass this site on to some friends, and maybe they will get more out of their playing as well.
And I do greatly appreciate the offer to let you know what particular songs I would like to play.  I just hope I don't burden you with those requests....I have a few in mind already.
Again, Thanks for the lessons.....and the CONFIDENCE!!

Havent held a guitar in 20 years. After a couple days with this Guitar-In-A-Nutshell software I was smiling again. Best teaching I have ever seen, and WELL WORTH the price. Thank You and will be recomending it to friends across the U.S.A.

Learn to Play Acoustic Guitar - An Honest Guide

In this article I’m going to look at the main requirements those of you wanting to learn to play acoustic guitar should be considering. I hope that the guidelines contained in this article will help you avoid some of the common frustrations which plague beginners and lead many to giving up.

Firstly it’s important to find good quality beginner guitar lessons. You can try to teach yourself, as I did in the beginning, but there will almost always be gaps in your knowledge which will frustrate you in the future as a result.

The obvious places to look for guitar instruction would be a local tutor or failing that there are plenty of great resources for online guitar lessons. This is generally the more economical solution and assuming the site is of good quality there’s no reason why you couldn’t learn to play acoustic guitar successfully that way.

DVDs and books can also be good ways to learn but you must be suited to self instruction and motivated to learn acoustic guitar on your own, not everyone is. The best situation to create for yourself is to use a combination of all the above in that you could take private lessons and supplement them with online lessons, books and DVDs.

It generally doesn’t take too long to get chords and strumming down to a point where you could play along to popular songs. As with most musical instruments though, the sky is the limit regarding how far you can progress. It’s a personal decision and will depend largely on your musical ambitions.

Aside from quality guitar lessons the most important will be in knowing how to practice correctly. Practicing is a technique you have to learn! Learning how to practice correctly will shorten the time to takes you to learn to play acoustic guitar enormously, it may even mean the difference between success and failure.
